
Over 1,000 people attended the The Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International's annual Adrian Awards at the Marriott Marquis in January, recognizing the industry's best work in advertising, PR and web marketing and the Top 25 Most Extraordinary Minds in Sales & Marketing. Special awards went to hotelier Ian Schrager & Laura Davidson of Laura Davidson PR.
Unilever hosted an Experiential New Media Immersion Day in March for one of their brand teams and marketing agency executives looking to reach a new target demographic-the 20-something year old woman, while also providing a hands-on experience of the latest technologies these women use in their lives. PTTR created a customized "Amazing Race meets the Real World," with teams racing around the city to experience a variety of challenges that offer a look inside the lives of women in their 20s. Each experience was coupled with a relevant technology, including YouTube, blogging, picture messaging, podcasts and social networking. A storyline with interactive characters helped keep the event exciting and innovative, while a post-event debriefing allowed the team to discuss ways to leverage these technologies to market to the target demographic.

PTTR planned and coordinated the 6-city launch of PhotoShelter, a new digital photography marketplace, in NY, Chicago, Atlanta, LA, San Francisco and Portland, OR in September. Events in each city were attended by key media and influencers in the photography world, and featured panel discussions, presentations and networking receptions.
The United Nations Association of the USA held their Global Leadership Award Dinner at Cipriani Wall Street on October 25th, honoring Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah of Jordan; and Susan Arnold, President, Global Business Units, Procter & Gamble. The event, which was emceed by Harry Smith and included remarks by UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon, and Ted Turner, raised over $1.1 million to support UNA-USA's many philanthropic efforts, including Adopt-A-Minefield, Global Classrooms, and HERO.
Highline Capital, a leading US hedge fund, held their first Investor Day at the Guggenheim Museum in June, with a meeting in the Peter Lewis Theater followed by a reception in the world famous rotunda.
Boots, the leading UK cosmetics company, held their U.S. launch on February 1st at Boylan Studios. Media guests were greeted by hostesses in long, white lab coats bearing the Boots logo and ushered into the press conference area, which was decorated with dark wood paneled counters and display cases, antique cash registers, mortars and pestles, and other props from a 19th century apothecary, where Boots was born. Double doors then swung open to reveal a sleek, white space where distinct vignettes were created to represent each of the six modern beauty and skin-care lines that will be available in the States. Editors moved in small groups from room to room to learn about each of the Boots lines. After the discussions, polished jazzy music played, indicating the groups were to rotate to their next environment. PTTR partnered with Coburn Communications to produce this event.
The Wharton Club of New York held its second annual Joseph Wharton Awards, quickly becoming the 'Academy Awards' for business, for 350 guests at the Pierre Hotel. Awards were given to Wharton Alumni Steven A. Cohen, Founder, SAC Capital; Jon Huntsman, Chairman, Huntsman Corporation; Aditya Mittal, CFO ArcelorMittal; and Carin Franzini, CEO of the NJ Economic Development Authority. The event was emceed by CNBC's Bill Griffeth, and marked the first public speaking engagement for the school's new Dean, Tom Robertson.

Paint The Town Red worked with MF Global to create, develop and execute their Annual Holiday Party. This year's venue of choice was Buddakan, an Asian- themed, bi-level restaurant located in the Meatpacking District. Helping to transform the space was great decor, specialty entertainment, and a completely customized built-in stage.

The Toy Industry Association held their 2008 Toy of the Year Awards at Pier Sixty in February, honoring the best toys from the previous year in 12 categories, and kicking off the International Toy Fair at the Javits Center. Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen of LEGO was inducted into the Toy Industry Hall of Fame.

The Foot Locker Foundation held their annual On Our Feet fundraiser, benefiting the United Negro College Fund in October at Cirpriani 42nd Street. Over 1,000 guests dressed in black tie and sneakers were on hand, including Jimmy Fallon, Rosie Perez, Jerome Bettis, Jeremy Shockey and DJ MC Doug E. Fresh. Constant entertainment included an aerial act by Mirror Man, the human disco ball, and live painting of music icons by Extreme Art.
Mariah Carey, the most popular female vocalist in music history, launched her new fragrance, M, at Macy's on October 23rd. The perfume, being manufactured by Elizabeth Arden, is in a uniquely shaped purple bottle with a butterfly top. Mariah pulled up to Macy's in a vintage Bentley convertible and was greeted by hundreds of screaming fans outside the store, then walked down a 100 yard purple carpet runner flanked by a 50-person drum line inside the store, where she held a press conference to announce the launch. PTTR partnered with Coburn Communications to produce this event.
Warburg Pincus, one of the world's leading private equity firms, hosted their 2007 Real Estate Offsite in a three-city meeting in January in Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong, which included a tour of investment properties. PTTR coordinated the program in its entirety, including manifest tracking, ground transportation, hotel room blocks, food & beverage, meeting management, welcome gifts and activities, including a visit to the Great Wall and Forbidden City. To help offset a full itinerary, PTTR arranged for a police escort to whisk the group through the notorious Beijing traffic jams.
The Women's Bond Club held their annual Merit Award Dinner at Pier Sixty on April 24th, honoring leading women in the financial industry. The sold out event had over 800 guests in attendance and raised a record amount of money for the non profit. In addition to recognizing 25 "Rising Stars," major awards were given to Isobel Coleman, Senior Fellow, Council on Foreign Relations; Diane Schueneman, Senior Vice President, Global Head of Technology & Operations, Merrill Lynch; with a keynote address by Kathleen Corbet, President, Standard & Poor's.
Dick's Sporting Goods launched their exclusive new line of athletic wear, Nike ACG, with a reception for the media at Penthouse 15 on November 1st, followed by a roof-top fashion show featuring leading local student athletes as models. The models emerged from behind a rock-climbing wall before hitting the runway, with the city skyline as backdrop. PTTR partnered with Coburn Communications on this event.
Greenlight Capital, an investment management firm, hosted their Annual Meeting at The Pierre hotel. Consisting of meetings and a dinner reception, Paint The Town Red assisted in creative development and overall meeting management.
