Landmark Mansion

Noted architect Charles C. Haight constructed the magnificent Clubhouse in 1887. The Romanesque revival exterior opens to a magnificent Edwardian interior with the finest marbles, tile inlays, massive doors and exquisite metalwork. The distinctive architecture of this building makes it a premium location for meals, meetings and society functions. The marble-trimmed lobby with a working fireplace has a wood-paneled bar suitable for cocktail parties and receptions. Half a flight up the broad, print-lined staircase is a large library with a huge fireplace. All rooms are decorated with fine art including antique silver and prints of sailing ships and old New York. Former members of the club included four Secretaries of State, five Attorney Generals and former President Franklin D. Roosevelt.
